"The Church and Manor Farm" card features a vintage view of a building that has since been demolished (Manor Farm Hotel) with the Church of St Helen's in the background. Manor Farm was turned into a hotel by Martin Coles Harman in the 1920's and ran as such for many years. It was demolished in the early 1980's and became the now Old House North, Old House South, Square cottage and the 'new' Marisco Tavern. Much of the left over dressed granite went into building Government House.
St Helen's was completed in 1897 upon the orders of the Rev. Hudson Grossett Heaven (who's family owned Lundy from 1834 to 1918). It was designed by John Norton - who was also the architect for Tyntesfield near Bristol.
