'The Old Light' card features a view looking back to the Old Light from the North, with Sika deer in the foreground. The Lighthouse was designed by Daniel Alexander (who also built Dartmoor Prison!) & completed in 1820. Sitting some 470 feet above sea level the light was often shrouded in mist and fog, and so abandoned not long after it was built. It now comprises a pair of holiday cottages (one lower and one upper) that visitors can stay in. You can also go up the tower for stupendous views of the whole Island - and there are two deckchairs up there for sunset watching... just don't forget the gin & tonics!
